These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your use of SolarForHelp, a trading name of HOMEFORHELP Ltd (Company No: 15814889). By using our website or submitting your information, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use our services.
1. Definitions
- “We”, “Our”, “Us” means SolarForHelp (HOMEFORHELP Ltd).
- “You”, “User” means any person accessing or using our services, including homeowners and installers.
- “Lead” means the information you provide, including contact details, property information, and service requirements.
- “Installer” means a third-party solar professional or business who may purchase or receive your Lead.
2. Lawful Basis for Processing Data
We process your personal data under the lawful basis of consent and legitimate interest in accordance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR). By submitting your details, you consent to us sharing your Lead with vetted Installers and third-party partners for the purpose of providing solar installation services or related offers.
You may withdraw your consent at any time by contacting us at info@solarforhelp.com.
3. Provision and Transfer of Leads
When you submit information through our forms, you acknowledge and agree that:
- Your Lead may be shared with one or more vetted Installers who may contact you directly.
- Once a Lead has been transferred to an Installer, SolarForHelp is no longer responsible for subsequent communications, agreements, or services provided by that Installer.
- We make reasonable efforts to ensure that Installers are reputable, but we do not control their conduct, offers, or performance.
4. Use of Services
- You agree to provide accurate and truthful information.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use our services.
- You agree not to misuse our website or submit fraudulent information.
5. Installer Obligations
Installers who purchase or receive Leads from SolarForHelp must comply with applicable laws, data protection regulations, and fair trading standards. SolarForHelp is not a party to any agreement between you and an Installer.
6. No Guarantee of Results
We do not guarantee that an Installer will contact you, provide a quote, or deliver satisfactory services. We are a lead generation and introduction platform only, not a solar installer or contractor.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SolarForHelp shall not be liable for:
- Any damages, loss, or claims arising from dealings between you and an Installer.
- Any reliance placed on information provided via our platform.
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of our services.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability where it cannot be excluded by law (such as for fraud or personal injury caused by negligence).
8. Your Data Protection Rights
Under the UK GDPR, you have the right to:
- Request access to your personal data.
- Request correction or deletion of your data.
- Withdraw consent to processing at any time.
- Lodge a complaint with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).
9. Data Retention and Erasure
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in our Privacy Policy or as required by law. Standard retention periods are:
- Lead and enquiry data: up to 24 months from your last interaction.
- Customer-service correspondence: up to 24 months from resolution.
- Installer-matching and billing records: up to 6 years to meet tax and audit obligations.
- Marketing consent logs: up to 6 years to evidence consent or withdrawal.
- Suppression (do-not-contact) lists: retained indefinitely (minimum data only) to ensure opt-outs are honoured.
- Website/server logs: up to 12 months for diagnostics and security.
- Encrypted backups: kept for up to 35 days before secure overwrite.
You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing privacy@solarforhelp.co.uk. We will respond within one month and notify any relevant installer partners where feasible. Limited information may be retained where required by law or to prevent future contact (suppression lists).
10. Amendments to Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and the “last updated” date will be amended accordingly. Continued use of our services after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
11. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms shall be governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
